Foundation advocates health coverage for senior citizens
A non-governmental organisation, Age Nigeria Foundation, has called for equitable healthcare access for older persons across Lagos State. The foundation’s President, Oluwayemisi Oluwole, made the call during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Abdullahi Olowa, details which were contained in a statement made available to The PUNCH on Wednesday. Oluwole stressed that the visit was aimed at creating awareness about the challenges that aged persons in Lagos State face in accessing universal health coverage. She noted that the Nigerian health system do not have adequate provision for the growing number of aged persons who are at risk of non-communicable diseases.
