Antibiotic dispensing robot hailed as 'ground-breaking'

A new robotic machine which allows patients to collect urgent medication when local pharmacies are closed has been hailed as ground-breaking. The REMEDY machine, described as the first of its kind in Europe, will be trialled in Dolgellau, Gwynedd, where locals face 50 mile (80km) journeys to access pharmacies which stay open overnight or on Sundays. People who contact NHS 111 out-of-hours and require medication urgently will be given the option of collecting their prescriptions from the machine, which is positioned outside Dolgellau Hospital. "This is ground-breaking technology, using it for this purpose has never been done in Europe. This is world-leading," said Dr Rebecca Payne, a GP involved in the trial. Dr Payne co-led the study to develop the trial alongside Prof Dyfrig Hughes, from Bangor University. "[The machine] is developed to issue medication after a teleconsultation," said Dr Payne. "We know that 70% of people who call 111 are...

Scientists Unveil Breakthrough Solution for Electric Vehicle Challenges: 'Understanding Finally Clear'

Reinforcing pillars might unleash the capabilities of a still somewhat inadequate battery element. according To the specialists at the University of Texas at Dallas. The researchers have been examining lithium nickel oxide, known as LNO, as a cathode material. This substance holds promise for producing long-lasting lithium-ion Packs. However, deterioration following multiple charge/discharge cycles has been an obstacle—up until now, according to recent reports. release from the team. "The deterioration of batteries manufactured with [LNO] has been an issue for many years, however, the root cause remained unclear," said Dr. Kyeongjae Cho. said In the update, the professor of materials science and engineering went on to say, “Since we now grasp the reasons behind this phenomenon, our focus is currently on developing a solution to address it.” technology can be used to provide longer battery life in a range of products including phones and electric vehic...

Scientists Unveil 'Game-Changing' Phenomenon Solving 80-Year-Old Mystery

Researchers have uncovered a new aspect of water behavior that significantly alters our comprehension of this substance. how the world works And this might result in entirely new technological advancements. A group from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology ( MIT ) revealed a phenomenon known as the "photomolecular effect," which shows for the first time that water has the ability to evaporate without any thermal energy when exposed solely to light. This study could potentially unravel an 80-year-old enigma regarding why clouds soak up sunlight in a manner that seems to contradict the principles of physics. For many years, researchers and climate experts have been baffled by the fact that clouds absorb significantly more light than what theories predict should be feasible. “The finding of evaporation Caused by light rather than heat, this offers novel disruptive insights into the nature of illumination. water “Interaction,” stated Xiulin Ruan, a mechani...
