Boda boda riders to get health insurance for KSh 50 per week and NTSA licenses for KSh 100 daily

The Kenyan boda boda industry is set for enhanced safety and insurance coverage following initiatives by the government and stakeholders such as Expendo Mobility. Stakeholders in the transport industry, in collaboration with the NTSA, launched an initiative allowing boda boda riders to acquire driving licenses by paying KSh 100 daily. The Automobile Association of Kenya and NTSA, through an initiative dubbed 'Licence na Mia' have significantly subsidised the cost of training motorbike riders on riding, road safety, defensive driving and response to emergencies as a measure of reducing road carnage.
