Three men injured in mine explosion Three men have been injured in a mine collapse in Sydney 's south after an explosion at the site. Emergency services attended Appin West Colliery in Douglas Park about 3am on Sunday upon reports of a blast. The men were taken to hospital where they remain in a stable condition. A roof had partially collapsed in the explosion, according to reports. The blast reportedly threw one man three metres into the air before he was buried in rubble and had to free himself.
