First Glimpse of 'Chief of War': Jason Momoa’s Epic Hawaiian Warfare Saga

Apple TV+ has shared a preliminary glimpse of Chief of War , Jason Momoa's forthcoming Hawaiian war epic that he leads and co-developed. The television show, presenting the unparalleled story of Hawaii’s unification and colonization from an indigenous perspective, is scheduled to debut on the streaming platform on August 1st. The show boasts a mainly Polynesian ensemble with Momoa at the helm. Fifty years since the end of the Vietnam War, the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs ensures an annual event takes place to honor nearby Vietnam veterans. Within the walls of the Gold Star Families Memorial Auditorium at the Veterans Home in Rocky Hill, the venue was brimming with people aiming to honor local Vietnam veterans – many of whom had felt underappreciated upon their return from the conflict half a century earlier. Ron Welch, a former Brigadier General who currently serves as the Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, stated, "This is an enormous day; we're honoring our Vietnam War veterans, acknowledging their contributions, and recognizing the sacrifices made by them and their families. Final Farewell: Last Surviving Battle of Britain Pilot Passes Away

John 'Paddy' Hemingway, the final remaining Battle of Britain pilot, passed away at the age of 105. Mr. Hemingway, who hails from Dublin, enlisted in the Royal Air Force during his teenage years prior to World War II. By the age of 21, he served as a fighter pilot during the Battle of Britain, a critical three-month span where members of the airforce protected the nation’s airspace from a massive onslaught by Germany's air force, known as the Luftwaffe. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer honored Mr. Hemingway, stating that his bravery along with all RAF pilots' valor "assisted in bringing World War II to an end and safeguarding our liberty." The Royal Air Force issued a statement saying that Mr Hemingway "died peacefully" on Monday.
