Chicago White Sox's Tim Anderson Fires Bold Message at Former Team Ahead of Angels Clash

Former Chicago White Sox Shortstop Tim Anderson is poised to face his previous squad at Guaranteed Rate Field this Thursday. During his tenure with the Chicago White Sox from 2016 through 2023, he secured two All-Star selections, won a Silver Slugger Award in 2020, and claimed the American League batting title in 2019.

After the 2023 season concluded, Chicago allowed Anderson to enter free agency. In 2024, he signed with the Miami Marlins but was designated for assignment in July of that same year.

Per video posted on X by Kevin Powell of WGN , Anderson spoke When asked about returning to Chicago before Thursday’s game, he addressed how it would feel facing his previous team. He boldly expressed his connection with the city by referring to Chicago as "home."

"Just another regular opening day for me. I'm thrilled... I'm thrilled to see the fans again... I'm thrilled to return home," Anderson stated.

In 2024, Anderson suited up for the Marlins in 65 contests, maintaining a batting line of .214/.237/.226. During his last year with the White Sox in 2023, Anderson hit .245/.286/.296, recording the smallest slugging average in the American League. Additionally, his OPS of .582 represented the lowest figure in the same league.
