Rabanne Unveils Effortless French-Girl Beauty with a Chic Twist
Rabanne is heralding a comeback to a more lighthearted time. The brand’s fall/winter 2025 collection drew heavily on bold styles directly from fashionable 1960s Paris—imagine big hair And striking eyes. Amidst the brand’s characteristic vibrant materials, glitters, and sequins, the models showcased tousled bouffant hairstyles, smudged dark eyeshadows, and winged eyeliner.
The makeup was applied by artist Diane Kendal. Rabanne Beauty Kendal, who serves as the creative director at Rabanne, has been responsible for steering the brand’s expansion into the beauty sector with gender-neutral items that capture the company’s glamorous and artistic essence, such as Shimmer Bomb , a full coverage glitter spray, and Top Coat Mascara, a shimmering silver and gold overlay that creates a sparkly lash effect. This range of cosmetics has gained popularity among individuals who prefer breaking away from conventional makeup norms and aim to express themselves boldly.
The runway beauty look serves as an engaging contrast to Rabanne’s exuberant attire. Featuring subtly winged liner along the waterlines and softly blended taupe eyeshadow applied across the lids with hints of it also smudged beneath the eyes, the models embodied the classic French girl aesthetic—nonchalantly chic, effortlessly put-together yet seemingly undone, gentle yet captivating. The voluminous, slicked-back hairstyle coupled with dramatic eye makeup brings to mind fashion icons such as Brigitte Bardot and Catherine Deneuve.
Although Rabanne’s makeup range has been groundbreaking, Kendal took a distinct approach to the event’s aesthetics this year by emphasizing the models' natural skin tones and accentuating their eyes for an understated yet dramatic effect. What Kendal excels at is blending simplicity with creativity—an approach prominently showcased at Rabanne.
