Trump Administration Seeks to Dismiss Final USAID Employees

"Due to President Trump, this misdirected and financially unsustainable period has come to an end. We are redirecting our foreign aid initiatives to better serve the interests of both the United States and its people," the statement read.
The statement indicated that both the State Department and USAID informed Congress about their plan to carry out a restructuring. This process would include integrating specific USAID roles into the Department by July 1st and phasing out the rest of the USAID duties that do not match the current Administration’s goals.
