How does Michelle Monaghan look so youthful at 48? The White Lotus actress meditates and wears SPF daily, swears by Tata Harper and MAC skincare, and enjoys hiking with her family
In The White Lotus season three, Kate (played by Leslie Bibb) tells Jaclyn (portrayed by Michelle Monaghan) that she looks "amazing", as she looks her up and down in awe.
"You look like you've just been pushed out of a birth canal," the third friend in the group, Laurie, chips in during the scene. And while the interaction may be fictional, viewers who know Monaghan couldn't help but think in that moment - she does look amazing, doesn't she?
At 48, the actress hardly looks a day over 30. It's led many netizens to wonder how she's managed to maintain such an incredible physique and flawless complexion despite nearly being in her 50s.

While her character in the show confesses that she has done some "maintenance" and "the basics" with her doctor, the real-life Monaghan seems to have followed the traditional route of a healthy diet and good work-life balance.
Here's what we've learned about Michelle Monaghan's self-care routine.
Michelle Monaghan maintains a healthy diet
Monaghan doesn't overcomplicate things when it comes to her daily meals. There are a few things she prefers to avoid though, out of personal preference. "I have never liked fruit. To make up for it, I have a green juice every morning, which is totally devoid of fruit but has tons of vitamins from vegetables," she told Shape in 2017. "A typical day of eating for me is eggs or oatmeal for breakfast, soup or salad for lunch, and fish or meat and lots of veggies for dinner."
She wears SPF
Monaghan regularly preaches the importance of applying SPF daily.
Since she had a melanoma removed over a decade ago, she has become an advocate for skin cancer education and sun protection, per the Skin Cancer Foundation website. "I definitely take responsibility for not having proper skin health as a young person, and we know that's when a lot of the sun damage occurs," the Mission: Impossible star told the foundation in 2023. In terms of skincare, she looks to products such as Tata Harper's Hydrating Floral Essence, MAC's Mineralise Charged Water Cleanser and Egyptian Magic's All Purpose Skin Cream, per her 2015 interview with Into the Gloss.
She has an intense workout routine
Despite her busy work and family schedule, Monaghan makes time for her workouts.
She has talked about her love of spinning, Pilates and walking with Women's Health mag.
"I try to do something for at least 30 minutes every day, even if it's just going on a walk," she told Byrdie in 2020.
Mental health is just as important to her
Monaghan enjoys meditating in her downtime. "One of the things that I do daily, I'm a meditator," she told Numero Netherlands in February. "I generally start my day doing that. That's pretty invaluable to my well-being and my state of mind." She also uses baking as a way to relax - and even considers it a form of meditation for her. "It's something that I used to do with my mum all the time growing up, so it kind of touches me in that way," she added.
She enjoys being in nature
Being outdoors can do wonders for mental clarity and function. It's no wonder Monaghan likes making the most of her natural surroundings. "I also love the outdoors, I love hiking," she told Numero Netherlands. "We live in Los Angeles, so we have the benefit of going on a number of different hikes or kind of cruising to the beach."
She wants to be an inspiration for her kids
Monaghan doesn't want to make any strict rules when it comes to her lifestyle, as she wants to set a good example for her daughter. "I also need to be an example for my daughter. That means I can't run around worried about what I look like," The Family Plan actress told Shape in 2017. "We're active together as a family - the kids go hiking and biking with us. But I don't obsess about what I eat."
