Juice Recalled From Wineries Nationwide After Deadly Toxin Found
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – A vineyard in New York has initiated a recall for their pumpkin wine juice, which was distributed to wineries across 12 states, including Michigan. The reason for this action is the presence of a toxic substance that poses serious health risks.

According to the notification, the juice has an excessively high pH level, which could lead to potential contamination causing botulism—a lethal type of foodborne illness. Signs of botulism comprise muscle weakness, dizziness, blurred vision, as well as difficulties with speech and swallowing.
