Alabama and Auburn Expected to Square Off for Mid-Major Transfer Portal Star
NEWARK, N.J. — Recruitment specialists anticipate Alabama basketball Auburn will compete against others for a transfer portal recruit originating from Tuscaloosa.
Ahead of the No. 2 seeded Crimson Tide 'S Sweet 16 matchup against the No. 6 seeded BYU, according to On3's prediction. Joe Tipton It has been reported that Kennesaw State guard Adrian Wooley plans to transfer following his impressive freshman campaign with the team.

With a 3-point shooting percentage of 42%, Woolley appears to be well-suited for Crimson Tide coach Nate Oats’ style of play. Similar to Chris Youngblood, a former player from ‘Title Town’ who transferred from USF and previously excelled as a marksman during his initial three years at Kennesaw State.

Shortly after declaring that Wooley entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, Tipton also mentioned that he "anticipates both Alabama and Auburn would be interested" in recruiting the All-CUSA First Team pick for their teams.
Tipton did not verify if either Alabama or Auburn had formally reached out to Wooley.
The ex-Paul W. Bryant High standout informed The Tuscaloosa News on March 11 that earning Freshman of the Year honors was "one of his objectives when entering college," which he achieved successfully.
"Throughout my journey, I dedicated myself entirely to achieving this recognition. Over the summer and during the entire season, I put in significant effort to earn this accolade, and I am immensely grateful for it," Wooley stated, noting that he guided his high school team to appear in the Final Four in 2023 following their run to the Sweet 16 in 2024.
