Costco Customers Get Extended Hours to Fill Up Their Tanks

During the company’s earnings call on March 6, CEO Ron Vachris stated that Costco “increased operating hours at our gas stations across North America throughout the quarter to provide greater convenience for our members when refueling.”

He informed analysts and investors that typically, our stations are extending their operating hours by one additional hour compared to before, with several also starting their operations slightly earlier.

Last month, the wholesale club shared the updated operating times for its fueling stations via a Facebook post, mentioning that these timings might differ in California and Hawaii, and advising members to consult the Costco app for further details.

The posting detailed the expanded operating hours at the Costco gas station as follows: from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sundays.

The gas stations at Costco are exclusively for Costco members, although customers who use the Costco Shop Card can also buy fuel there, as stated on the company’s official site.

Costco’s leaders were similarly questioned regarding whether the warehouse retailer had been thinking about expanding the operating hours for its outlets.

As of March 6, the company has opened several new Costco stores, with one being in Sharon, Massachusetts. This particular store became the retailer’s 620th outlet within the U.S., as well as their 900th globally, reported Costco.

Vachris mentioned that Costco plans to open 28 warehouses in fiscal year 2025, including three relocations, resulting in a total of 25 new locations.
