Easter Enchants The Towers During Natchez Spring Pilgrimage
NATCHEZ, Miss. ( WJTV ) — Numerous historic residences in Natchez are welcoming visitors to explore their interiors and grounds during the 2025 Spring Pilgrimage. This event offers an opportunity for people to catch a glimpse into these structures, which stand as some of the most ancient dwellings in Mississippi.
The construction of The Towers started in 1790 and progressed through two additional stages until 1858.
Ginger and James Hyland really pull out all the stops for their Jeweled Christmas And once Christmas is put away, they immediately move on to planning their Easter Tower decorations. Ginger’s enthusiasm is contagious.
"Well, at The Towers, we really enjoy decorating for different seasons. Easter is the most significant time of the year for us right after Christmas. We put up six-foot rabbits, various types of bunnies and eggs, and our mantelpieces are adorned with decorations including both ornaments and flower arrangements along with ribbons. It looks absolutely stunning," she mentioned.
Ginger talked about her collection of ribbons and flower arrangements. Her interests span a broad range of items she enjoys gathering. Among these treasures gathered throughout the years from various parts of the globe are those kept alongside the bunnies and eggs.
The ornaments here are not just unique; Ginger takes it further by decorating the decorations herself. Her personal touch brings them to life even more vividly.
"But I adore the final look of the bejeweling. I added gems to this carriage right here. You can see them all over this large egg-shaped design. Each jewel was carefully placed by me. This process requires significant time investment. Occasionally, it might take anywhere from a few days to several weeks for just one piece like this, as each segment needs drying before moving forward," she explained.
Easter at The Towers is part of the ongoing Spring Pilgrimage in Natchez, which continues until mid-April.
