Hays Travel, which is based in Sunderland, announced that it will distribute additional funds after revealing record-breaking sales figures. The company achieved this milestone by surpassing the £3 billion threshold just a month prior to the conclusion of the fiscal year.

Dame Irene Hays, the leader of the company, stated: "Our achievements are due to our team members."

Lenore Mason, an employee of the company for 37 years, expressed her joy in working at a business that "expanded within the area where I was raised."

Lady Irene stated that the £3 billion "landmark" represents an occasion to show employees just how greatly their exceptional efforts and steadfast commitment are valued.

The firm, being the biggest travel agency in the UK, reported £2.55 billion in sales last year.

In August 2020, the company stated that potentially up to 878 employees were in danger of losing their employment because of COVID-19 related travel limitations.

The year before, the company grabbed attention when it assumed responsibilities for over 2,000 ex-Thomas Cook employees .
