Fresno Yosemite Airport Unveils Major Expansion with New Baggage System Upgrade

On Thursday, Fresno Yosemite International Airport plans to begin replacing the luggage handling system, as stated by an airport spokesperson on Wednesday.

This initiative is a component of the 'FATForward' terminal enlargement project.

(FAT) stands for the airport's code.

It has been announced that as part of the expansion, work will start on replacing the current baggage check-in process with an advanced automated system.

Passengers at the airport will notice changes such as a reduction in the number of ticket counters in use, airlines moving from their normal locations, and new queuing lines for check-in.

The airport states that only slight delays should occur, and they will collaborate closely with their airline partners to reduce delays and lessen the impact on travelers throughout the upcoming six-month period as various stages of the project unfold.

It is anticipated that the updated system will be entirely operational by late summer or early fall, coinciding with the opening of the enlarged terminal.
