GMC Sierra EV Cuts Starting Price by $25K, Introduces New AT4 and Elevation Trims

Regardless of the current uncertainties about electric vehicles in the United States, General Motors continues to expand its range of offerings in this sector. battery-powered pickups With the launch of 2026 GMC Sierra EV , the automaker has finally expanded the lineup to include fan-favorite GMC trims like Elevation and the off-road focused AT4. That also means that, for the first time, buyers will be able to score a Sierra EV for under $65,000.

The GMC Sierra EV has been a pretty expensive pickup so far. Early Denali Edition 1 models carried a base price of $99,495, whereas last year’s “entry-level” Denali Extended Range carried an MSRP of $91,995.

Pushing more affordable offerings out was always going to be important for the truck’s long-term success, and GMC’s decision to borrow the Sierra 1500’s most popular trims makes a lot of sense. After all, the Elevation, AT4 and Denali model lines make up over two-thirds percent of Sierra sales.

As the entry-level model, the Elevation does experience some natural de-contenting. A large part of that comes down to the new Standard Range battery pack, which will be offered exclusively on Elevation and Denali trims. GMC says the pack is a 14-module unit, down from the 20-module Extended Range and 24-module Max Range packs. Given that the GMC’s share the same 170-kWh and 205-kWh batteries from the Silverado EV The updated version will come in at 119 kWh.

GMC hasn’t shared range estimates for the new pack quite yet, but we know it should be good for more than 280 miles or so. (The larger packs provide around 390 and 460 miles of range.) All of the packs are backed by the brand’s 800-volt architecture, allowing for 100 miles of range to be added in approximately 10 minutes on a DC fast charger.

If the Elevation were employed at Chotchkie's Bar & Grill, it could face some criticism since it has less flair compared to others; it omits the Denali’s vibrant detailing and opts for 18-inch wheels rather than the 24s featured on the Denali. (It likely also misses out on the massive 17-inch brake discs available on the highest trim level.) Assuming this is the case with the basic package, the Elevation would potentially be at a disadvantage. Chevy Silverado EV WT If judged by this, you can anticipate a minor decline in general performance as well.

The truck maintains the same 16.8-inch infotainment system found in the Denali model, and this system also doesn’t include support for either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Additionally, it features the Super Cruise technology. hands-free driving system The entry-level model won't include this feature as standard, but it will be available for purchase separately. The Elevation trim level comes with three options: Base Standard Range at $64,495, Base Extended Range priced at $72,695, and Premium Extended Range costing $78,940.

The AT4 represents the most thrilling addition to the range, infusing the brand’s well-known off-road capabilities into an electric vehicle. Certainly, the brand already possesses the Hummer EV As the leading off-road vehicle, this project has also enhanced the AT4.

"During the creation of the GMC Sierra EV, we sought out chances to collaborate with Hummer whenever it was appropriate," explains lead development engineer Trista Schieffer.

The off-road equipment comes with special coil springs offering a 2.0-inch elevation above regular models, complemented by 35-inch all-terrain tires. Additional standout elements encompass red tow hooks, protective skid plates, and an included four-wheel steering system as part of the package. Inside, the AT4 boasts a distinctive “Forest Storm” theme, showcasing elegant stitching and fabric details throughout.

Each AT4 will include one of the two bigger batteries since extra range is crucial when exploring remote areas. The base price for the 4x4 version begins at $81,395; however, the Max Range variant initiates at $91,695. This makes the AT4 pricier compared to two Denali variants: the Standard Range priced at $71,795 and the Extended Range costing $79,995. Modifications to the highest trim level are minimal except for incorporating a smaller battery option. Meanwhile, the most luxurious Denali Reserve editions now lead from above with prices beginning at $92,070 for the Reserve Extended Range and reaching up to $100,695 for the Reserve Max Range configuration.

Each GMC Sierra EV coming in 2026 will come with an expanded range of colors, featuring options such as Glacier White Tri-Coat Metallic, Coastal Dune, Deep Bronze Metallic, Magnus Matte, Summit White, Onyx Black, Deep Ocean Metallic, Dark Ember Metallic, and Thunderstorm Gray Metallic.

Customers anticipate the arrival of the 2026 GMC Sierra EV range at dealerships this summer. More specific information about their powertrains and prices will be released in the upcoming weeks.
