Hayley Williams of Paramore Joins Deftones in Nashville for 'Minerva'

One undeniable advantage of being a rock star is having the opportunity to jam with other famous musicians when they visit your city. Just ask anyone who’s been there. Paramore singer Hayley Williams who jumped onto the stage with the Deftones During their headline performance at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday evening (March 26), they joined forces with vocalist Chino Moreno for a rendition of one of their classic tracks.

In fan video During the superstar summit, Williams — dressed in a black T-shirt, frilly miniskirt, and combat boots — energetically dances behind the band during their performance of the shoegaze-style track that served as the leading single from their eponymous fourth studio album released in 2003. The footage captures her lively movements as she hops around the stage behind Moreno, vigorously nodding her head and twirling in loops, all while a video showcasing a ballerina tiptoeing through urban landscapes unfolds in the background.

“And may God bless each one of you / For the melody you shared with everyone here / For every heartache caused / Each time sorrow echoes,” Williams laments alongside Moreno during the refrain, interspersing additional supporting harmonies throughout her evident favorite track. This isn’t the first instance where Williams joined forces with Deftones; back in 2010, they collaborated on “Passenger” from their 1999 release. White Pony .

The Deftones are embarking on a tour alongside the reunified The Mars Volta, and their upcoming show will take place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on March 28th. They will keep touring across the U.S., concluding this leg with a performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on April 9th. Afterward, the band members will head to Europe for various summer festival appearances.
