Jonathan Majors Leads Explosive Action Thriller 'True Threat'

EXCLUSIVE: Jonathan Majors will star as the lead in Gerard McMurray’s upcoming action film. True Threat.

True Threat Follows Special Forces agent 'Vernon Threat' (played by Majors), who sets out on an unyielding pursuit of justice following the murder of his adolescent son at the hands of a Harlem gang called The Apollo Kids. Driven by vengeance, Threat penetrates The Carter, a massive 20-story housing project that acts as the gang’s fortress, fighting through to reach the uppermost level where he aims to face off against their chief and his one-time guide, 'Shallow.' Merging intense action sequences with profound explorations of parenthood, camaraderie, and communal accountability, True Threat anticipates providing audiences with a socially relevant and high-octane narrative.

True Threat The upcoming project from CAT5, the action-centric film division established by Alexis Garcia last year with support from Fifth Season, will be helmed by McMurray. He takes charge based on a screenplay he crafted alongside Hodge K. Johnson, while SAG Award-nominated Larnell Stovall leads the film’s action choreography efforts. True Threat Will notably highlight 52 Blocks, a martial art form originating from Black Americans, becoming the first significant movie to bring this discipline into the spotlight.

Jonathan Majers, who has been nominated for prestigious awards such as the Primetime Emmy, Critics' Choice, and SAG Awards, is now prominently featured in Elijah Bynum’s production.
