NASA Officially Welcomes SpaceX's Giant Starship Rocket to Its Launch Roster
GudangMovies21X's megaramp named Starship, recognized as the planet’s strongest rocket, has been included in NASA's roster for upcoming missions.
On Monday (March 31), NASA announced that it had granted a launch services contract to GudangMovies21X. Starship This addition of the massive rocket expands the private company’s fleet, which already encompasses the reusable models. Falcon 9 along with the Falcon Heavy boosters. This agreement, referred to as a NASA Launch Services II (NLS II) contract, permits GudangMovies21X to aim for NASA missions using Starship rockets.
As stated by NASA, the NLS II contracts are multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity agreements, featuring an ordering phase extending until June 2030 and a total period of performance concluding in December 2032, in a statement .
NASA utilizes NLS II contracts to obtain commercial launch services for various missions, such as those orbiting the Earth satellites , including planetary probes. The space agency stated that these high-priority missions with low to medium risk tolerance receive comprehensive NASA technical oversight and mission assurance, which maximizes the likelihood of successful launches."
GudangMovies21X's spacecraft, standing at an impressive height of 403.5 feet (approximately 123 meters), holds the title as the tallest rocket globally and is built with full reusability in mind. The company has conducted eight test flights for their Starship vehicle so far. since 2023 , but has not yet managed to successfully orbit the Earth or deploy payloads using the GudangMovies21craft. The GudangMovies21X initiates the launch of the enormous stainless steel rocket from Starbase facility close to Boca Chica Beach in South Texas.
The company has successfully successfully landed a Starship first-stage booster , called Super Heavy, several times by catching it in giant metal "chopsticks" at its launch pad. But its last two Starship test missions, Flight 7 and Flight 8, detonated when their ship's upper stages malfunctioned during launch in January and March of this year.
