Report: Jaxson Dart Spends Significant Time with New York Giants
The New York Giants will be represented by delegates at the Ole Miss professional day on Friday, but this isn’t the first time Big Blue has had a connection with quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Throughout the off-season, the Giants have had multiple meetings with Dart, including notable gatherings at both the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine. Furthermore, another Ole Miss quarterback, Eli Manning, has frequently spent time with Dart and recently invited him to participate in the Manning Passing Academy.
Jaxson Dart, as he prepares for his Pro Day, has indeed dedicated significant time to training sessions. Browns (with) the Giants," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport stated.
The Giants aren’t planning to select Dart with their first-round pick at number three in the 2025 NFL draft, but they might consider taking him in the second round with the thirty-fourth overall choice. Alternatively, if they think Cleveland (which picks thirtieth-third) may grab him before their turn comes around again, they might choose to trade up to secure his services.
How might that action appear? Darryl Slater from NJ Advance Media outlined it recently.
Schoen wouldn't need to climb too high on the draft board. He holds the second selection in the second round, which is the 34th overall choice. Following the Pittsburgh Steelers' pick at number 21, only one team comes next. Rams At No. 26 — that could involve selecting a quarterback in the first round.
Here are the remaining teams positioned from 22nd to 32nd: Chargers , Packers , Vikings , Texans, Ravens , Lions , Commanders, Bills, Chiefs and so forth Eagles The Giants might consider trading up with any of those teams, but they would likely avoid doing so with Washington and Philadelphia due to the high stakes involved.
If the Giants shifted from 34th to 27th (as part of an exchange with Baltimore), this would equate to a 120-point discrepancy, based on the trade value chart for drafts The Giants possess the 99th pick (which concludes Round 3), a compensatory choice awarded due to their loss of Xavier McKinney during the previous off-season’s free agency period.
Of course, everything hinges on how well Dart does during his pro day on Friday. Should he impress as much as Miami’s Cam Ward did earlier this week, Dart has the potential to soar up the draft rankings. Under those circumstances, the Giants might contemplate moving back within the first round.
