Stephen Graham Pens Heartfelt Tribute to Robert De Niro: "Thank You from the Bottom of My Heart"
Stephen Graham thanked Robert De Niro during an emotional scene in The One Show to ignite his passion for acting and cinema during his youth.
On Thursday (March 13), the two prominent heavyweight actors made an appearance on the BBC program to publicize their latest ventures.
Graham is now receiving widespread acclaim for his captivating new Netflix series Adolescence Meanwhile, just as they were getting over the aftermath of Zero Day , De Niro is set to revisit the gangster genre in this film. The Alto Knights .
The two actors have previously appeared together in Martin Scorsese’s highly praised film. The Irishman but Graham revealed on The One Show That De Niro has a special spot in his heart, separate from just appearing onscreen.
Graham remembered being a teenager when his dad asked him at age 14 whether he was committed to pursuing acting. Upon Graham’s confirmation, his father took him to the nearby video rental shop where they picked out three films to watch. The Godfather , Taxi Driver and The Deer Hunter .
Then we returned home and ended up watching these three movies throughout the weekend, Graham mentioned. 'They were incredible, honestly. You introduced me to what would become my lifelong passion for favorite films,' he added.
Facing De Niro, he said, "I believe I never mentioned this before. Thank you with all my heart."
De Niro, at 81 years old, stars in Taxi Driver and The Deer Hunter , earning him an Academy Award nomination for each.
The One Show Has since posted about the exchange on Instagram, where the comment section has been filled with positive feedback from spectators.

Speaking to The Independent regarding Adolescence, Graham cautioned parents about risks associated with the online world .

"I came across an article about a young boy attacking a young girl with a knife," the A Thousand Blows Star remarked, "About two months afterward, there was another story on the news about a young boy stabbing a girl. To be completely frank with you, these incidents broke my heart."
He mentioned that the plot delves into a variety of complex issues, and parents should be "attentive" to the outside factors affecting their kids.
It's about recognizing that parenting isn’t solely our responsibility, nor does education fall only on schools," he stated. "We must acknowledge the impact of unknown influences shaping our youth culture—both positively and negatively—and understand that everyone shares accountability.
