Guardiola Warns: Erling Haaland May Miss Crucial 7 Weeks for Manchester City

Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola affirmed that Erling Haaland might be sidelined for seven weeks due to an ankle injury sustained during the match. Bournemouth in their FA Cup quarterfinal.

The 24-year-old injured his left ankle in City's 2-1 win on Sunday, departing from the Vitality Stadium with a protective boot. He will consult a specialist later this week.

The Norwegian national team player netted City's tying goal prior to being substituted off at the 60-minute mark. His successor, Omar Marmoush scored the winning goal to propel City into the FA Cup semifinals, where they will encounter Nottingham Forest on April 26.

The city remains optimistic that Haaland might participate in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup starting in June. However, Guardiola mentioned that he will likely miss most of the tournament except for the last couple of weeks. Premier League season.

"He mentioned that the medical team estimated four to six weeks for recovery. Ideally, this would mean being fit towards the end of the season and around the time of the Club World Cup," Guardiola stated on Tuesday. 'There are times in a career when such issues arise; we've faced them throughout the entire season,' he added.

Given all the injuries we've faced throughout this campaign, I feel deeply apologetic for both my team members and also for Erling. Haaland, who has netted 30 times in 40 appearances this campaign, will miss City’s encounter against Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday as well as their fixture at Old Trafford for the Manchester derby on Sunday.

A statement released by City regarding Haaland's injury on Monday night stated: "Erling had preliminary examinations in Manchester on Monday morning and will now pursue specialized consultations to determine the complete scope of the injury."

The evaluation continues to determine a complete diagnosis. It is anticipated that Erling will regain fitness in time to participate further in the rest of this season, which includes the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup this summer.
